Why learn to swing dance?
Swing dancing isn’t just a dance—it’s an experience. It’s a joyful blend of movement, music, and connection that brings people together in a way few activities can. Whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or refining your skills after years of practice, swing dancing offers something for everyone: a chance to play, express yourself, and create a connection with your dance partner. Rooted in jazz clubs and dance halls of the past, Lindy Hop (what most people think of as the main form of swing dancing) was originally created by Black Americans in Harlem towards the end of the 1920s. Lindy Hop and other forms of swing dancing are a vibrant piece of American cultural history that continues to evolve and thrive in dance communities worldwide.

Come Dance With Us
Whether you're here to learn, dance socially, or take the stage, there's something for everyone at David & Kim's Juke Joint.

Group Classes
Our weekly swing dance lessons on Tuesday nights are designed for all levels - from absolute beginners to experienced lindy hoppers! New series start at the beginning of each month.

Social Swing Dance Events
Swing dancing is meant to be social - so come out and dance with us! The last Tuesday of each month is social dancing, plus we host frequent pop up events. There's a "taster" lesson at the beginning if you'd just like to try it out.

Performance Team
Our first place Juke Joint Rhythm Student Team has won the National Jitterbug Championship the past two years. If you want to take your dancing to the next level, joining a team might be right for you!

Meet Your Instructors - David and Kim
David and Kim met on a smoky dance floor in 1994, and by 1996, they were teaching swing dancing together at the iconic Brown Derby in Los Angeles.

Over the years, they’ve earned championship titles from the National Jitterbug, International Lindy Hop, and US Open Championships, and they’ve been inducted into the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame, both individually and as a couple.

Their work spans Hollywood sets, international stages, and classrooms worldwide, but their greatest passion remains teaching. They are known for their humorous and comprehensive teaching style that draws inspiration from Southern California Swing history and has kept them in high demand these many years.
